Traffic will be detoured soon, due to potholes on the Interstate – again.
The temporary I-30 westbound bridge, running above the Highway 67/229 intersection, will be closed for traffic overnight, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT). This will be after Halloween – between 10:00 p.m. October 31st to 6:00 a.m. November 1st.
In a nutshell, get off and get back on – Arkansas State Police will direct westbound traffic to the offramp at Exit 114 and back onto the entrance ramp.
This temporary bridge that will be closed is meant to be a detour itself, as part of construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County.
ARDOT is advising motorists to be cautious in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas nearby to this repair work may experience noise impacts overnight.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
