The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has another project planned to improve Interstate 30 in Saline and Pulaski Counties.
ARDOT awarded the job to Redstone Construction for just over $40.5 million. This work will resurface 16.5 miles of Interstate 30 between Geyer Springs Road in Little Rock and South Street in Benton. Also, rumble strips will be located on the outside lane next to the shoulder.
The purpose of this project is to overlay approximately 16.468 miles of Interstate 30 in Saline County and Pulaski County. This project consists of aggregate base course, ACHM surface course, ultrathin bonded wearing course, scarifying concrete pavement, removal and disposal of concrete pavement for patching, portland cement pavement patching, joint rehabilitation, maintenance of traffic, erosion control items, rumble strips in asphalt shoulders, pavement marking, silane protective surface treatment, modification of two bridge structures, polymer overlay on nine bridges (total length 1328.00 feet), and miscellaneous items.
A work order was issued in April 2022 and work should begin soon. It’s expected to be finished around October 2023. The basic description is as follows:
Rumble strips will also be a part of the project. A work order date was issued April 19th, so we should possibly see some activity soon? Estimated completion date is October of 2023.
