Watch for ARDOT to close a ramp this week. Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes requires closing the Highway 67 ramp to Interstate 30 east in Benton.
The reason for closing the ramp, according to ARDOT, is for embankment work. This will begin 9 p.m. Thursday, September 28th and end by 5 a.m. Friday, September 29. These times will be as the weather allows.
Traffic will be unable to use the I-30 eastbound on-ramp during this closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See detour map and instructions below. ??
- West on Frontage Rd (north of I-30)
- West on I-30 to Exit 106 (Old Military Road)
- South on overpass toward I-30 east on-ramp
- East on I-30
Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
