Beginning on Sunday night, the Arkansas Department of Transportation will close lanes in parts of Interstate 30 and the frontage road. Weather permitting, the following is scheduled:
- Sun Sep 8 – Sat Sep 21, 9pm – 5am
• on I-30 between South/Sevier Street (Exit 116) and U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111)
• Eastbound lanes reduced to one open lane
• to allow crews to place temporary lane striping and barrier wall - Sun Sep 8 – Sat Sep 21, 10pm – 6am
• on I-30 between South/Sevier Street (Exit 116) and U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111)
• Westbound lanes reduced to one open lane
• to allow crews to place temporary lane striping and barrier wall - Sun Sep 8 – Sat Sep 14, 9pm – 6am
• the I-30 frontage road north of the Interstate, west of the South Street bridge to Bass Lane
• eastbound and westbound lanes alternately closed, detouring traffic along West Sevier Street, Crouch and Bass Lane
• to allow construction crews to install a drainage pipe across the road
Traffic will be controlled with construction barrels and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone. Areas adjacent to the interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116).
