ARDOT crews are going to close an old ramp Friday night and open a new one, all at Exit 114. This is part of construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County. If you’re headed out of the Haskell area on Highway 67, the on-ramp to I-30 eastbound (toward Little Rock) will be closed during the overnight hours beginning Friday, August 25 in Benton.
DETOUR INFO & MAPS BELOW ??
Weather permitting, crews will close the Highway 67 on-ramp to I-30 eastbound between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. This closure will allow crews to shift ramp traffic onto its new alignment adjacent to I-30 eastbound.
DETOUR INFO & MAPS BELOW ??
Part 1 – Closing a Ramp:
The old eastbound on-ramp will be closed, so if you’re on Highway 67 and you want to get to Interstate 30 eastbound, the detour choices are as follows:
- ON I-30 (red route)… Go West on Frontage Rd (north of I-30) until itvends at US 70; Left on US 70 to entrance ramp to I-30 Eastbound; Go East on I-30.
- ON 229 (yellow route)… Go North on Hwy 229; Left/East on the North Frontage Road; Through the roundabout to the South Street overpass; Right at the end of the bridge; Loop right to go under the bridge and head East on the Frontage Road; Merge with traffic on I-30 Eastbound.

Part 2 – Opening a Ramp:
Once the new on-ramp is opened from Hwy 67 to I-30 Eastbound (toward Little Rock), it will start earlier (farther south) than before, and will be just to the right of the old on-ramp. This new alignment will remain in place for the foreseeable future as part of the construction, according to ARDOT.
This will be the new traffic pattern:
- FROM HASKELL… Highway 67 Northbound – Go North on Highway 67; Slight right to access I-30 east on-ramp.
- FROM BENTON… Highway 67/229 Southbound – Go South on Highway 67; Left turn and then full stop ? then merge with Highway 67 northbound on-ramp traffic to I-30 east.
Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
