Construction to widen Interstate 30 to six lanes in Saline County requires a full overnight closure of Highway 67/229 below the I-30 bridge Wednesday, August 16.
Weather permitting, crews will close Highway 67/229 below Interstate 30 at Haskell (Exit 114), between Pawnee Drive and the frontage road north of I-30 Wednesday night, August 16, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. This closure will allow crews to continue work on the I-30 bridge over Highway 67/229.
Highway 67/229 traffic will not be able to travel below I-30 during this closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 23-274-A.
Northbound traffic detour (approximately 7 minutes):
- East on I-30 to Exit 116 (Sevier Street)
- North on South Street Bridge
- West on I-30 to Exit 114 (Highway 67 North)
Southbound traffic detour (approximately 20 minutes):
- West on I-30 to Exit 106 (Old Military Road)
- South on overpass toward I-30 east on-ramp
- East on I-30 to Exit 114 (Highway 67 South)
Traffic will be controlled with construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
