There will be pavement repairs Wednesday night that will require ARDOT to close a ramp from Highway 70 east to I-30 east. This will happen beginning 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024.
👇SEE DETOUR AND INFO BELOW
Traffic will not be able to use the Highway 70 ramp to I-30 eastbound during this closure. There are two detours listed here – one for long distance travelers and a second route for local traffic.
Detour #1 takes I-30 Westbound and doubles back. This is best for large trucks and long distance travel.
- Take ramp to I-30 west
- West on I-30 to Exit 106 (Old Military Road)
- Take overpass toward Highway 67
- East on Highway 67 to return to I-30 east
Detour #2 takes the North side Frontage Road and avoids doubling back. This is best for local traffic.
- From US Hwy 70 Eastbound, BEFORE you get to the 70/I-30 interchange, take a left across the divided highway, at point A in the map
- Take an immediate right to enter the North side Frontage Road, headed East.
- Continue East for about 3.2 miles to Hwy 229
- To proceed on I-30 Eastbound, turn right onto Hwy 229, then left onto the Eastbound entrance ramp to I-30.
- To proceed toward Haskell, turn right onto Hwy 229 and keep straight.
- To proceed to Benton, turn left on Hwy 229 and go about 2.1 miles to return to the North side Frontage Road, headed East.
Traffic will be controlled with construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
