Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires a traffic shift on Highway 67/229 between the I-30 interchanges (ramps north and south of the overpass) over two nights:
9 p.m. Tue, Mar 26 until
6 a.m. Wed, Mar 27, and
9 p.m. Wed, Mar 27 until
6 a.m. Thu, Mar 28.
More closure info below ??
Weather permitting, crews will alternately close a single lane on Highway 67/229 to shift traffic under the I-30 bridge to the east onto new pavement. In addition, the Highway 67/229 on-ramp to I-30 eastbound and the I-30 Exit 114 ramp (Highway 67/229) will be closed.
Traffic will need to follow the signed detours. See detour map above☝️ for details.
Along with single-lane closures and ramp closures, traffic can expect slow roll and flagging operations to complete the traffic shift.
- I-30 westbound off-ramp to Highway 67/229 (Exit 114). Exiting traffic will need to exit early at Exit 116 (South Street) in Benton and take Highway 229.
- Highway 67 on-ramp to I-30 eastbound. Traffic will need to take I-30 west to Exit 106 (Old Military Road), use the overpass, and return to I-30 eastbound.
Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
