Single, married or somewhere in between, if you take Interstate 30 as your partner for Valentine’s evening or weekend, you might experience heartbreak (or just vehicle brakes) as you run into a lane closure westbound in Benton, Arkansas.
More closure info below ??
Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires I-30 westbound slow roll lane closures and I-30 eastbound Exit 116 ramp closures nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Wednesday night, February 14, through Saturday morning, February 17 in Saline County.
Weather permitting, crews will use a slow roll moving roadblock between I-30 westbound Exit 114 (Highway 67) and Exit 111 (Highway 70) to allow for overhead sign structure removal. In addition, the I-30 eastbound Exit 116 ramp (Sevier and South streets) will be closed during this time to allow for crews to install an overhead sign structure.
I-30 eastbound traffic will be unable to use the Sevier and South streets exit ramp (Exit 116) during this closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 24-053-A for more information. The detour is as follows:
- East on I-30 to Exit 117 (Highway 5/35)
- Cross the overpass
- West on I-30 to Exit 116 to return to South Street
Traffic will be controlled with slow roll vehicles, message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.
This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
