You will make it because you’ll see what others don’t.
You’ll trust what others won’t. You’ll do the things no one sees. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
You’ll do the things that only make sense because God said so.
And the in between will be hard. The night may feel long.
That walk you’re taking right through the valley of the shadow of death will seem a long one.
But, you’ll go through.
You’ll not build your home in that valley. Not even set up camp for the night. You’ll not invite everyone over to see how hard it is.
You’ll keep walking right through that place and into the next thing.
There’s a verse in Hebrews 11 (the “Faith Hall of Fame” — read it this holiday season to your family) that explains how Moses in the Old Testament made it out of Egypt in spite of a raging, powerful king. And it’s not nearly as complicated as I make things.
“By faith he left Egypt, being unafraid of the wrath of the king; for he endured (steadfastly) as seeing Him who is unseen.” — Hebrews 11:27
Moses acted out of honor for what he couldn’t see. He was moved by the unseen. Changed by the unseen. More fearful of the unseen hand of God than the visible hand of a mighty king.
No matter the uncertainty, the seriousness, the fear, the future, the past or the present — believe that because of Jesus you will make it. Speak His word over every bit of it. Every unknown. Every need. Every thing.
And when you don’t see the promise fulfilled, keep at it. Like a hammer to a rock, like the waters pressing against a damn — each prayer, each act of faith, each choice of obedience bringing you one step closer to break through,
You will make it because you have what others don’t — faith.
You will make it because you belong to the author and perfecter of that faith — Jesus.
