A commercial developer has plans for property in Alexander that formerly a Human Development Center, according to The Alexandrian blog.
Alexander Mayor Paul Mitchell made the announcement at the City Council meeting Monday, March 18th. The blog states that Ben Handford of Farmington, AR, plans to convert the former state-operated property, along Highway 111, into a commercial and residential complex. The development is to be named Alexander Cross Roads.
“The 40 million dollar project will include renovating the property’s iconic former tuberculosis hospital into apartments and extending Brookwood Road through the property to Highway 111,” the blog stated.
The Alexandrian did their homework on this story. See the details at http://thealexandrian2013.blogspot.com/2019/03/40-million-development-coming-to.html.
The property has been vacant for years, but has recently been used by first responders in the City of Alexander as a training location.
