If you had a little wait to get through Alcoa Road this morning, it was because an SUV rolled over. Right in front of Hurricane Creek Elementary, a couple was driving along but flipped for some reason and they were stuck inside. Benton resident David Mitchell saw it happen and stopped his daily commute to got into the ditch with them and pull them out. First responders showed up shortly and took over the accident.
Mitchell happens to be a friend of mine and sent me pictures of the accident. I told him he’s a doggone hero. He was just concerned about people being safe, and off to work he went with dirty shoes and pantlegs. I’ll post more info here as I get it.
