Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed June 11-13, 2021, a free fishing weekend statewide. This is an annual tradition with the Governor and Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (AGFC).
From noon Friday until midnight Sunday, residents and even non-residents may fish anywhere in Arkansas without fishing a license or trout permit.
Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed.
In addition, the AGFC has stocked nearly 50 Family and Community Fishing locations across the state, and will host fishing derbies at the four hatcheries listed below on Saturday, June 12th for young anglers and their families.
See the Saturday morning Fishing Derby locations listed below. Here are the rules for each:
Saturday, June 12, 8am-noon.
Space is limited. Registration is manditory. This year, adults will also be able to fish with their kids.
Derby attendees must register in advance. Due to Covid restrictions, there is a cap on the number of attendees. Registration is required for an entry ticket which is required for entry to the derby. Each child must be supervised by an adult. Each person may catch and keep up to three catfish.
