3200 N. Reynolds Road was better known as Taste of D-Light Chinese Cuisine for over 23 years. The Jerry and Lee Jones purchased the property in October 1997 for $160,000, according to the Saline County Assessor records. The family temporarily retired and sold the property in December 2015 for $835,000 to Blue Amber Holdings, who made it into Smuggler’s Bay Wine & Spirits and operated there for about two years. The building has gone vacant since April 2018 and was sold in December 2018 for $1,047,000 to America’s Car-Mart.
Yes, America’s Car-Mart is what will be there next. If you wondered, like I did, what would happen to the sign left from the Chinese restaurant from the front of the building, I have heard from a reliable source that the new owners are are offering it to the Jones family.
Car-Mart has 143 locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas, using the “buy here/pay here” business model. They are publicly traded on NASDAQ as CRMT. Car-Mart is headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas.
