Y’all, I’ve been homeschooling a 9th grader and it has been SO HARD. Anyway, we pushed ourselves to finish this week. Yayyyyy! However, that means I didn’t read a whole lot. So here’s a list of the books at the top of my To Be Read pile.
1. Waiting For Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey
This one is for my romcom loving heart! I’m hoping to see allllllll the movie references here. And I can already tell you, I’ll probably be craving all the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies after I finish this one.
2. Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel
This one is for my true crime obsessed brain. Ever heard of Munchausen by Proxy? Ever heard of Gyspy Rose Blanchard? Well, this is a fictional story, but it seems to be at least loosely ripped from the headlines. I can’t wait to read it and compare it to all the true crime docs I’ve watched.
3. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
This one is because I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pass up a story even remotely based on Beauty and the Beast, and I haven’t read any good YA Fantasy in a while. This book came out a few years ago, but because I have no chill, I have to wait for a series to be finished so I can binge the whole thing at once. Waiting a year for each new book to be released is just not my jam, y’all.
4. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
This one is because I can’t get enough indulgent mysteries! Since I read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder last year, I have been a pretty big fan of YA Mysteries. This one is said to have some Sherlock vibes, and I am here for it! I can’t wait to get sucked in to this one.
So, those are the books I’m looking forward to! Anyone want to do a buddy read???
