Book: Our Trespasses
Author: Michael Cordell
My Rating: 3 Spooky Stars
I was sent a free copy of this book, so I went into it with zero background knowledge and zero expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with the original storyline that kept me turning pages all day long. I mean, twins with a psychic connection is interesting, but twins who maintain a psychic connection after one of them dies??? That’s original.
I loved Matt, the main character. His dry wit hit home with me every time. His childhood friend Andy, AKA Father Pearman also was a favorite of mine. I wish his character had more space on the pages! The story had a creepy feel. Some of the scenes gave off classic exorcist movie vibes. So even though I’d never read the story, parts of it felt familiar.
I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery and the main characters, but I was a little put off by all the red herrings thrown into the plot to keep readers from guessing the ending. Some of the twists just felt unnecessary, but I don’t want to elaborate and give spoilers away! If you’re into creepy, supernatural mysteries and looking for a quick read give this one a shot.
