The City of Benton Animal Control Committee will meet on Monday, March 11th in Council Chambers at the Benton Municipal Complex. The Benton Municipal Complex is located at 114 S. East Street, Benton, Arkansas.
Agenda items will include the approval of the minutes meeting January 8, 2024 and a presentation/update on the new Benton Animal Services Shelter by Brian Black.

The Animal Services Committee met on Monday, January 8, 2024, in the Council Chambers immediately following the Finance Committee Meeting at 5:00 pm.
Chairman Knight called the meeting to order, and a quorum was recognized.
Attendees were recognized.
Minutes from November 13, 2023, were approved as presented.
Director Parsons presented an ordinance to require microchipping of animals in the care and custody of Benton Animal Services. The ordinance was passed out of committee and to be presented to the full council.
Director Parsons announced that Benton Animal Services had been awarded the “No Kill Shelter” status from Best Friends Animal Society.
Animal Services Committee passed that a resolution be drafted for microchipping of animals outside the city limits of Benton. The cost to the animal owner would be $5.00.
No other business was discussed, and the meeting was adjourned.
