There is a mystery in Bauxite I would like for you to investigate…
Every once in a while this sign appears on poles.
I refer to it as the secret society of the almighty goat (it could be a ram too)…
S SAG for short.
This sign points into the quarry and is the only one with an arrow…
Creepy.
Please solve this mystery for me.

Preston, I’m not saying there isn’t a clandestine organization dedicated to goats and their undeniable power, but I will advise not to rule it out. I have to admit, there are so many possibilities here, given the vague nature of the sign(s), I’m hesitant to pick out any one, for fear of missing out on the wonder of the others. But I suppose I can dream up three ideas as a kind reward to the no-doubt creative geniuses that are behind this enigma. Here goes.

1. Perhaps there are agricultural classes nearby, which may include the care, feeding, breeding et al of the majestic creature pictured.

2. Remember that Dragnet movie with Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd where they dressed up in goat horns and pelts in order to infiltrate a pagan crime syndicate? Maybe they’re filming another one.

3. Goats. Having goat meetings. Goats can see, but they don’t read letters and weird, so that’s all they put on the sign.

That’s plenty from me. Let’s hear comments from other local folks. What say you, gentle readers?
