THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH. THIS MEANS CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT FOR A TORNADO TO HAPPEN. (A WARNING WOULD BE IF A TORNADO HAD BEEN SPOTTED.) THIS TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM THURSDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING 30 COUNTIES.

The National Weather Service expects scattered to widespread thunderstorms across the northern half of the state from Wednesday through Thursday morning. Some of this storm activity expected to become severe.

The activity will be during the evening hours in particular, across portions of northern Arkansas. Damaging winds and large hail are the main concerns.

Locally excessive rainfall could be seen as well with multiple rounds of rain expected through the day. This could lead to an elevated flooding threat.
