Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist across much of the state Wednesday and into the evening. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but a few storms could become strong to severe. Gusty winds the main threat.

Heavy rainfall is a concern today into tonight, with portions of southern and central Arkansas seeing as much as 2-3 inches. This could lead to localized flash flooding in some areas.
