Register to race in a canoe or a kayak at the Lyle Park Saline River Canoe Race and Family Festival. This event is offered by Benton Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Saline River Canoe. Originally planned for April 29th, race day has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 3rd, due to more rain in the weather forecast. 

In addition to the race, this event will include music, food, yard games, face painting, raffle prizes and giveaways. The entry fee is $30 per person ($60 tandem or $30 solo). 

The race will begin at Peeler Bend and end at Lyle Park, which is about 4 miles. Check-in time is 9:00 a.m. and race time is 10:00 a.m. There will be medals, shirts and lunch for all race participants. It is a requirement to wear life jackets in this race.

Choose to go solo or tandem in one of the two divisions – Recreational or Competitive. The Recreational Divisions must use equipment provided by Saline River Canoe. Canoes will be provided for Tandem Recreational entries, and kayaks will be provided for Solo Recreational entries. If you are participating in the Competitive Division, you must bring your own canoe or kayak.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all divisions will each receive a trophy. There will also be a “Best Name Competition,” so name your team something great. There will also be a kayak giveaway by Saline River Canoe.
