UPDATE OCT 5, 2023
We’ve seen the Bryant location of this coffee shop open just a few months ago in April. In June, we knew there would be a second Saline County location of Scooter’s Coffee in Benton. The newest location will be at 1921 Arkansas Highway 5 North, at the intersection of Alcoa Road.
We asked the owners if they had set an opening date. Shawn and Heather LaMontia live here locally and have been working hard to get everything done.

“We are gearing up to train the week of October 16th and open our window to the public October 23rd,” said Heather.
It will still look a little messy even after they are done with construction, because the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is currently in the middle of a highway widening project right in front of the coffee shop.
“Customers can enter and exit from both sides of our lot,” stated Heather, “But the access point off Highway 5 will admittedly be a little tight. Until ARDOT is complete with their road project, we are unable to get permission for additional expansion on that side. We did limit the curbing from that area to help with the flow of traffic. The drive thru entrance is located closer to Dogwood Lakes’ road & the corner light, where we have the most room on our lot.”
With training in the store planned for the week of October 16th, they are now actively interviewing. “Anyone that is interested can reach us directly at AR2034@

A little history: If you’ve lived in this community for a few years, you might remember this property as a former recreational campground, with a Yogi Bear theme.
Shawn and Heather Lamontia moved to Arkansas to open these businesses, after falling in love with Scooter’s. Read more of their personal story below. Heather stated they hope to open the Benton location in the Fall.
“We don’t have an opening date yet, we are hoping for the end of September or beginning of October. We will start the hiring process about 3 weeks before opening.”
The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) may have something to do with the convenience of construction. There is a highway construction project that just began in the last month. According to ARDOT projects list for Saline County, it is a major widening of 1.2 miles of Highway 5, with a price tag of $5-10 million.
“We bought the property knowing the widening would happen so we are prepared there,” said Heather. “We just hope it doesn’t take too long for the construction of the road, and the traffic still comes through.”

And they will come through. There are only two choices for people who need to get to Salem Road, and passing this property is one. There’s also the apartments behind the future Scooter’s, along with the fire and police department, and several local businesses with coffee drinkers.

UPDATE FEB 8, 2023
The secret is out. The building currently being constructed at 1816 Reynolds Road is a drive-thru coffee shop. I spoke to Heather LaMontia about this venture. She and her husband Shawn moved to Arkansas last May with their three small children to be close to family and to begin a new career path as franchise owners with Scooter’s Coffee.
Heather explained that Scooter’s Coffee has a wide selection of great drinks and quick serve foods. They serve specialty coffee – hot, iced or blended. They also have teas, smoothies, quenchers, energy drinks & protein drinks. But they also have food – breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and cake bites.
“Scooter’s is committed to high-quality drinks, speed of service and a BIG smile. Our brand promise is Amazing people, Amazing drinks, Amazingly Fast,” said Heather. “We are a company that recognizes relationships as the foundation of our success. Scooter’s only roasts from the top 10% of specialty coffee beans in the world and the flavor is a direct reflection of that decision.”
This location in Bryant will be the LaMontia’s first Scooter’s Coffee location. They have active plans to open their second location later in 2023 in Benton. Their goal date for opening the Bryant location is Monday, April 3rd. they will begin looking for job candidates in the last week of February.
“After we decided on Arkansas as where we wanted to build our business, we were told to visit Bryant,” said Heather. “We made several visits to the city to look at locations, shop at the local stores and eat lunch at the local businesses. We felt very welcome, and it just felt right to bring our business to the community that we could see ourselves living in. We love the support the city has for small businesses, and we felt a warm welcome from with every interaction we have had within the community.”
Shawn has 17 years of leadership experience within the wireless phone industry, while I owned my own business as a cosmetologist for the last 10 years. Heather said their family shares the same values as Scooter’s Coffee which helped make this decision.
“When looking for our next adventure we knew it a perfect match when we saw firsthand with how Scooter’s Coffee puts so much into making the relationships with people number one,” said Heather. “We are so excited that the company behind our family business embodies everything we as a family find most important in our lives.”
Their window will open 7 days, starting at 5:00 a.m. and going until 8:00 p.m. for Mondays through Saturdays, and a barely shorter day on Sundays with hours between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Heather says the Caramelicious is their signature drink – a go-to if you’re new to Scooter’s and don’t know what to order. You can see their menu at www.scooterscoffee.com/menu and also make your visit faster by downloading the Scooter’s Coffee app. ☕
