Linda Diane Aaron, 64 of Benton, left this earth for her Heavenly home on May 18, 2022. She was born to the late Charlie and Frances Johnson of Benton on March 18, 1958. Linda was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Frances Johnson, brother, Donald Johnson, nephew, Fred Bruce and niece, Amber Bruce.
Linda is survived by one sister, Jo Anne Bruce of Texarkana, brother, David (Teresa) Johnson of Malvern and sister in law, Darlene Johnson of Bryant; two nephews, three nieces, five great nephews, seven great nieces and one great great niece due in June. Even though Linda had no children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
Linda was a resident of Southern Trace in Bryant and the family would like to express their deepest gratitude to them for all their help they have given over the years.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mildred Slade Vernon,96, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on May 19, 2022. She was born June 6, 1925 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Joe Smith Slade and Era Rogers Slade.
Mildred was a devout Christian and lifelong member of First Baptist Church, El Dorado, AR until retiring to Hot Springs, AR. Mildred was an honor graduate from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville in 1947. She taught Sunday School and was a gifted pianist playing for the children’s choirs at church. Mildred was a tenacious bridge player and was a member of many bridge clubs throughout her life. She was also an avid Razorback fan attending many games in the sixties. Mildred loved to cook and care for her family. She was especially involved in her girls’ school work and their use of the Kings English.
Preceding Mildred in death were her husband of 59 years, Richard Vernon; as well as her sister, Josephine Slade.
She leaves behind two daughters, Carla (Jim) Robertson and Marsha (Jim) Clevenger; one grandson, Mark (Melissa) Robertson; and her two treasured great-grandchildren, Evan and McKenzie Robertson. She also leaves behind her constant companion and beloved dog, Snuggles.
A graveside service will be held at Morning Star Cemetery, Hot Springs, AR on Monday, May 23 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, AR, 72202.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mount Carmel Community that has graciously and lovingly cared for Mildred (Mom) for several years and her endearing caregiver, Betty Russell.

Paul Quattlebaum, 61, of Benton, passed away May 15, 2022.

Dorothea Evelyn, 93, of Benton passed peacefully from this life on the morning of May 18, 2022 at her home. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family. She loved shopping, talking with her friends and being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very loving, caring, easy going, precious person. She played the accordion and sang in church at Zion Hill Church of God, Benton, Arkansas. Dorothea was joined in marriage to Wilson O. (Bill) Whitfield on March 16, 1947. They celebrated 73 years together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson O. (Bill) Whitfield, and her sister, Joyce Whitfield. She is survived by her sister, Louise Mixon of Knoxville, Tennessee; four children, Nancy Webb and her husband, Paul of Milton, Florida; Diane Hutchison and her husband, Mike of Benton; Larry Whitfield and his wife, Amy of Benton and Mark Whitfield and his wife, Tammy of Benton; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, Alicia, Amber, Emily, Heather, Ashley and Chad; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, who lovingly was by our side in taking care of our precious mother.
Due to COVID concerns, the family has requested a graveside service.
The celebration of life will be held Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Fairplay Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas.
