National EMS Week is May 15-21, 2022, and to celebrate our local Emergency Medical Services personnel, a free community event will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, 5:30pm-8:30pm sponsored by Everett Buick GMC.
Located at 21099 Interstate 30 in Bryant, AR, that includes: free food, bouncy house entertainment provided by Space Walk of Middle Arkansas, demonstrations for CPR and extrication as well as a Survival Flight helicopter and a variety of firetrucks and ambulances from Saline County.
Saline County EMS Week 2022 is being sponsored by Suicide Prevention Allies, a non-profit organization with the primary goal of educating community organizations, the public, and private sectors about mental health and wellness. First responders have at least a 10% greater chance of having or developing mental health conditions, including, but no limited to PTSD and depression. These EMS professionals put themselves on the front-line day in and day out and we want to take this week to show them that not only are they appreciated, but to share resources related to their own mental health.
If you or your organization would like to donate to Saline County EMS Week, please email [email protected] for further information. All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to local EMS professionals. To learn more about the Suicide Prevention Allies, visit suicidepreventionallies.orgIf you or someone you know is in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 (previously 1-800-273-8255).
