Juanita “Sissy” McClain, 93 of Bryant, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022. She was born on August 13, 1928 in Saline County to the late Jim and Okla Oats Allen. Sissy was a member of the Collegeville Nazarene Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred McClain and son, Larry McClain.
Sissy is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jolly of Cabot, grandchildren, Carmen (Dustin) Jones of Cabot, Joey (Katie) Smith of South Carolina, sister, Billie Williams of Bryant; six great grandchildren, Landon, Peyton and Piper Jones of Cabot, Brandon Smith of Cabot, Makayla and Caleb Smith of South Carolina and two great great grandsons, Oliver and Jasper Smith.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be Thursday, April 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander with Bro. Gary Don Fields officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Rev. Dr. Victor Ellis Green, 89, of Benton, passed from this life into Heaven on April 16, 2022 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville. He was born on October 12, 1932 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, the son of Ruby Marie Ellis Green & James William Green.
He was a graduate of Guthrie High School, Oklahoma State University, the Perkins School of Theology at SMU and received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Drew Theological School in New Jersey.
Victor loved the Lord and worked hard to fulfill the call of his life to share God’s love, God’s word and the hope found in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rev. Green served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church for over 50 years, mostly in the Arkansas conference. He served the towns of Batesville, Tyronza, Fort Smith (Wesley), McCrory, Pocahontas, Beebe and Stuttgart (Grand Avenue) as senior pastor. After retiring, he served as Pastor Emeritus at First United Methodist in Benton where he was a member. He also served in the US Army and was deployed to Korea in 1954 – 1956 at the end of the war.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Green (nee Adney); daughter, Kimberly McNabb; and his parents.
Victor is survived by his daughter, Karen Blasingame (Daniel) of Fayetteville; son-in-law, Mark McNabb (Joni) of Jonesboro; sister, Frances Van Schoyck (Nick) of Maineville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Ophelia Blasingame, Victor Blasingame, Fiona Blasingame, Oliver McNabb, Jackson McNabb, Lehman McNabb, Mary Claire McNabb, Veronica Lawson, Victoria Lawson, Tyler Lawson, and Danica Lawson.
He loved his family & his church family very much and enjoyed the many large family gatherings. Victor also enjoyed golfing, airplanes & aviation and maintained a private pilot’s license for much of his adult life. He and Mary enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Twirling Lariats. They also loved playing dominoes with their friends in Benton.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23 at the First United Methodist Church in Benton with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at Petit Jean Mountain Cemetery in the Hamilton addition. Rev. Keith Dodson will be officiating.

Huie Franklin Cordell, age 84, of Maumelle, formerly of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was born April 12, 1938 in Rison, Arkansas. Huie served in the U. S. Navy. He went on to work as a boiler maker at the State Hospital and then St. Vincent’s Hospital where he retired. Huie also was a truck driver and owned his own truck.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Eli & Dora Jane Cordell; two brothers, Travis and William Cordell and two sisters, Lillian Cordell White and Patricia Cordell.
Huie is survived by his wife, Barbara Cordell of Maumelle; four sons, Randy Cordell (Toni), Larry Cordell (Patty), Robert Cordell, and David Cordell all of Bauxite; two step-children, Janet McCrary (James) of Austin, Texas and Russell York (Penny) of Mayflower; sister, Marcil Cordell Burks (Robert) of Benton; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery. Bro. Kim Hammer will be officiating.
Howard Bagley, 85, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was born March 4, 1937 to Sam and Roxie Anderson Bagley in Benton, Arkansas. Howard was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lu Silvey; and a brother, Joe Bagley.
Howard is survived by his wife of 62 wonderful years, Margaret Zuber Bagley; daughter, Kim Gilbert (Randy); son, Keith Bagley (Debbie); two grandsons, Jason Allen and Scott Nichols; and special great-granddaughter, Pecos Allen.
He loved fishing, hunting, and working on lawn mowers. Howard Loved to Talk and he never met a stranger.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Edmonson, 79 of Benton, passed away on April 18, 2022. She was born on July 27, 1942 in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Leo Marvin and Mary Jess Harper Bryant. Mary loved the outdoors, fishing and tending to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Stegall, brothers, Bobby, Leo and Richard Bryant; sister, Alice Woodall.
Mary is survived by her sons, Marvin (Glenda) Stegall, Tony (Lawana) Stegall and Paul Dewayne Edmonson; brother, Alvin (Brenda) Bryant and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

James Andrew Moody, 88 of Bauxite, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022. He was born March 30, 1934 in Benton. James was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Benton and a member of the Otter Creek United Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin Moody and Zora Griffin Moody, son, James O. Moody, step-daughter, Kemberly Sorrells, brothers, Charley Moody and August Moody, sisters, Lois Hughes, Mildred Raper, and Christine Keen.
Survivors, wife, Linda Kay Moody, son, Ricky Andrew Moody, step-son, Kevin Clayton Bowman, daughters, Sandra Billingsly, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family will hold a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM Saturday at Otter Creek United Pentecostal Church.

Maples Lee Hargrove, 87 of Benton, passed away on April 19, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1934 in Veto, Alabama to the late James Maple Hargrove and Mamie Collins Hargrove. Lee was a Deacon at the Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He served in the United States Army and was retired from Alcoa.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Hargrove and sister, Mary Putman.
He is survived by his wife, Belva Verlene Hargrove, sons, Harvey (Carol) Hargrove, James Clinton Hargrove and Donnie Lee Hargrove, sisters, Joyce Lewis, Annie Hargrove and Ora Brown; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Graveside Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with Bro. Marcus Blakley officiating at Bauxite Cemetery in Bauxite.

Bradley Edward Boyd, 53 of Batesville, passed away on April 20, 2022. He was born in Little Rock on October 17, 1968 to Morris Edward and Beverly Jo Dawson Boyd. Bradley was a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his parents, Morris Boyd and Beverly Duncan, stepbrother, Bart Duncan and Blake Duncan.

Eva Jane Trail went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2022. She was born October 16,1935 in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Trail; mother, Lula Viola Butts; father, John Treece; very dear cousin, Bobbie Pater; aunt, Ethel Smith; and cousin, Regina Lattin who took care of her until she passed in December.
Survivors include dear cousin, Christy Priest who was by her side caring for her for the rest of her days, as well as many other cousins. Any additional family members are asked to contact the funeral home.
Eva Jane was a sweet, loving, and a kind soul who loved the Lord, her family, and her pets. She will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her.

David Allen Brewer, 59, went to be with our Lord on April 18, 2022. He was born on December 25,1962 in Little Rock to Rev. Dr. Simon David and Linda (Oliver) Brewer.
Preceded in death by grandmother, Edna M. Healan; grandfather, John Orvin Brewer; and grandmother, Thelma A. (Humble) Brewer. Surviving loved ones: parents: Rev. Dr. Simon David and Linda Brewer; beloved son, Joseph David Brewer; sister, Lois (Keith) Smith; loving niece, Karra (Jacob) Pracht; great-niece and nephew, Larkin and Jackson Pracht, and many extended family and many dear friends.
David was a hard worker and had many businesses. He proudly owned David’s U-Haul and Auto Sales. He has been #1 in the state for U-Haul the past 10 years. He was a wonderful musician and singer. There wasn’t an instrument that he couldn’t just pick up and start playing. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and uncle. He was a devoted Christian who opened his home to be a church for Faith Full Gospel Church.

Alberta Marie (Hinson) Shemwell, 76, entered into the presence of Jesus on Monday, April 18, 2022. She was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. She lived her life serving the Lord and her family.
She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Albert and Ruth Porter. In 1961, she married her first love, David Hinson, and they were blessed with four children. Prior to his death in 1998, their marriage of 37 years was evidence of the love they had for each other as well as their family. In 2003 she remarried, and with Rick by her side she enjoyed her later years attending church and traveling.
God’s plan for her life was richly fulfilled as she joyfully followed her Lord and Savior with a loving, sweet spirit. With her inner beauty and infectious smile her love for Christ enabled her implanting “the seed” of Christianity in the lives of her children. She also lived a life of love and service as “Mimi” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which was her greatest desire and most rewarding of all her accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Shemwell. Her four children, David (Sandra) Hinson, Mark (Elaine) Hinson, Kim (Mike) Jobe, and Robbin (John) Dunkum. Her eight grandchildren, Audra (Daniel) Montano, Zack (Kate) Hinson, Drew (Katie) Hinson, Jordan (Kelsey) Hinson, Korey (Amber) Jobe, Kaleb (Natalie) Jobe, Forrest (Emily) Dunkum, and Davidson (Hattie) Dunkum. Her nine great grandchildren, OIiver and Benji Montano, Lina, Mabel and Otis Hinson, Luke Jobe, and Henry, Easton, and Blakely Jobe. One brother, Jerry (Juanita) Gage, and a host of honored family and friends which include Fred and Adele Shemwell, Rebecca (Mark) Brown, Rachel Irving, Ruth Shemwell, Marshall Shemwell, Kaila Burge, Emily Schafer, Irene Birdsong and Linda Sherwood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Porter; and one sister, Gracie Byrd.
