James Michael “Mike” Perrett, age 75, of Paron, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was born on January 12, 1947 in Palo Alto, California to the late Mike Perrett and Viola Belle Rickard Perrett. Mike attended school at Paron High School. He joined the United States Army in 1966 and was discharged with honors in 1968 at which time he received the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from McGeorge Construction Company and H. C. Price Pipeline Company.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Gerald Rickard.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Lynn “J. L.” Perrett of Malvern and other extended family.
The family will hold a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3 at Bolin Cemetery in Paron.
William Jason Ball, age 43, of Benton, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was born August 17, 1978 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Jason was a Field Service Technician for Power Equipment Company.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lavern & Lloyd Ball, Doris Klotz, and Marvin Mason; aunt, Sheila Farley, and uncle, Jackie Mason.
Jason is survived by his wife, Mary Ball; two sons, Jessie Ball and Brian Ball; two daughters, Allison Clark and Emily Ball; his parents, Cindy & Danny Ball; five brothers, Danny Ball, Cory Mason, Joshua Ball, Hunter Force, and Jared Mallard; and six sisters, Amy Wilson, Courtney Allen, Carlee Nguyen, Aleena Nguyen, Brittany White, and Brooklyn Hernandez.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 28 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Mary Lee Whitmire, age 85, of Bauxite, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born October 12, 1936 in Bauxite, Arkansas. Mary retired from AT&T and was a member of Brooks Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie & Mabel Wilson; her husband, Marion Walter Whitmire; brother, Don Wilson; and a sister, Martha Wallace.
Mary is survived by three sons, Michael, Mark, and Monte Whitmire; brother, Bill Wilson (Linda); two sisters, Helen O’Kelley and Diana Goins; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at McPherson Cemetery in Sardis. Bro. Bradley McCool will be officiating.
Anita “Carol” Dodson, 58, of Alexander, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2022. Carol was born August 20, 1963 in Little Rock, Arkansas to George Cooper and Kathleen (Wilson) Carr.
Carol loved the Lord with all her heart. She served as a Praise and Worship Leader and loved to sing and worship the Lord. Crafting was her favorite hobby and she enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Carol was also an amazing cook. Family was everything to Carol. Her children and grandchildren were her priority in life. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved dearly.
Preceding Carol in death is her sister, Donna Honea.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of thirty years, Toby Dodson of Alexander, Arkansas; children: Shawn Crouse of Bearden, Arkansas, Jeremy Crouse and wife Diann of Benton, Arkansas, Kelly St. John of Benton, Arkansas, Toby Dodson of Benton, Arkansas, and Lexis Dodson of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren: Elijah Crouse, Austin Crouse, Emily Crouse, Jayde Maxey, Trenton Maxey, Preston Maxey, Marissa Dodson, Charlie Parker, Pyper Dodson; father, George Cooper of Searcy, Arkansas; mother, Kathleen Carr of Sardis, Arkansas; brothers, David Cooper and wife Stacey of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Kevin Cooper and wife Ann of Glen Rose, Arkansas; sister, Darla Harmon and husband Ryan of Texas; brother-in-law, Danny Honea; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends who will miss Carol always.

Alicia M. Anaya, 69, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away February 24, 2022. She was born October 3, 1952, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late O’Campo Anaya and Margaret (Cherry) Anaya. Alicia worked in treasury management in the banking industry for over 35 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and reading. She loved her family and her grandchildren were the light in her life.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Chris Anaya; sister, Maria Elena Anaya; and son, Tracy Blankenship. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Dustin Blankenship, and his wife Jill; four grandchildren: Eve, Cole, Connor, and Crosby; two sisters: Patsy Norton and Rosemary Williams; and many other friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, March 3, with funeral service, officiated by Pastor Keith Dodson, following at 11:00 AM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Casey Wayne Harris, Jr., 31, of Benton, Arkansas passed away February 25, 2022. He was born June 3, 1990 in Searcy, Arkansas to Patricia (Corbit) Peterson and the late Casey Wayne Harris, Sr.
Casey loved playing video games, riding four-wheelers, and taking long walks with his mother. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his brothers and his nephews, Dustin, Kyle, and Alex.
Casey leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Patricia Peterson and her husband Thomas Peterson; sister, Kimberly Reed and her husband John; two brothers: Kenneth Graves and Kevin Graves and his wife Rachel; grandmother, Henrietta Corbit; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love Casey and will miss him always.
