Local residents with an interest in technology have started a group that meets regularly for breakfast in Bryant. Saline Geek Breakfast is a community-driven meeting for technology-minded people.
Group member Walter Burgess stated, “We are just a group of geeks – tech enthusiasts and professionals – getting together monthly to celebrate technology and share our love of technology with each other.”
Attendees are from diverse areas of the tech spectrum, including software developers, laser manufacturers, electronics designers, IT professionals, automation experts, and others.
The group meets on the morning of third Tuesday of the month at Speakeasy Coffee in Bryant at 7:15 a.m.
“Come when you can and leave when you want to and tip your servers generously,” said Burgess.
Meetings consist of a 10-15 minute discussion about an interesting or emerging technology.
On September 21st, Burgess himself will speak about the different types of laser and their uses. He is from Power Technology, a local laser company.
On October 19th, Abby Sims from iDestini will speak about Software Development.
According to Burgess, “The discussions are [but sales pitches, but] simply technology lovers gushing about the technology they love.
Each event is open to the public and everyone is welcome.
