A round of thunderstorms is expected to develop and move across Arkansas on Sunday afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
Low instability values may limit the overall severe weather threat, but enough other ingredients are in place that could allow for severe thunderstorms to develop. The main threats are expected to be damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
Another round of thunderstorms is expected for St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, Mar 17th, with some severe weather possible. This potential is still several days away, but initial information suggests that instability may be higher which could lead to a more widespread threat of severe weather.
Don’t forget to set those clocks an hour ahead late Saturday night as we spring forward.
