A few shops in historic downtown Benton are shuffling around for Fall. Lillian Trails, formerly located on Market Street next to Just Ice Cream, vacated and sold only online for a few months while looking for the perfect spot. Owner Kelsi Evans found that spot at 105 N Main Street, a block over.
That address just happens to belong to High End Hippy right now. So what’s happening there? Lyndsey Taylor is the owner of Hippy as well as The Nutrition Loft at 107 N. Main Street. Except Lyndsey just sold The Loft. That’s already a little confusing, so allow me try to straighten it out.
As of Tuesday, September 15th, The Loft is still The Loft, but with new owners Valerie Harcrow and Rachel Robinson, who have both worked at other nutrition/Herbalife stores. There will also be new hours. You can now get your smoothies and teas Mon-Fri, 7-4 and Sat 9-1. They are closed on Sundays.
High End Hippy will still be there with apparel and home accessories through the end of the September with Lyndsey as the owner.
Beginning in October, Kelsi will take over the lease and Hippy will be no more. But it won’t be Lillian Trails either, because Kelsi is re-branding the shop for a fresh start, calling it Tantrums.
“Tantrums – we’ve all had them right?” said Kelsi. “I know I’ve thrown a few since February. It just seems suitable for a kids space. Makes ya giggle a little.”
Kelsi said she will be working hard to make the shop hers, and hopes to open before Halloween. It will still be a shop for children’s apparel – baby to age 6, toys and more, plus some things for the parents. This new space is a little smaller, but Kelsi said they are adjusting their lines and customers may see some new types of items.
So why is Lyndsey selling? She’s going to just a block away at 145 W South Street. “I was at a point in my life where I have been seeking a transition in my career,” stated Lyndsey. “I accepted a job offer at Stated Apparel to be a social media marketing director and a nationwide wholesale rep.”
Look for those changes in the downtown area, visit the shops and say hello. There will be more news coming soon.
