The hiring process for a new Chief of Police in Bryant is getting close to an end.
According to a statement from the City of Bryant, members of the hiring committee completed interviews with applicants. The committee and Mayor Allen Scott narrowed it to two candidates who will have another interview before the mayor makes his final selection.
“This decision was not an easy one by any means,” stated Mayor Scott. “We had strong internal candidates that were heavily considered during this process, but ultimately the committee selected two external applicants with strong experience in the specific areas they felt were needed within the department at this time.”
Carl Minden, currently with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and Kevin Webb with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division will move forward into the final interview process.
Scott adds “My plan is to complete these final interviews as timely as possible and have the ability to announce my decision by the end of the month.”
