Stephen Van Lowther, 77, of Benton went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2018. He was born June 12, 1941 in Spencer West Virginia to the late James Donald Lowther and John and Hazel Seaman. James (Buzzy) Hodge, age 78 of Benton passed away Friday November 16, 2018. He was born September 2, 1940 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. James was retired from the Maintenance Dept. at the Benton Service Center and a member of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter B. Don Edwin Crowson, age 88, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018. He was born January 28, 1930 in Benton, Arkansas. Don was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a retired school teacher and a member of Parkview United Methodist Church. Emily “Rebecca” McCool, 86 of Benton, died on November 19, 2018. She was born on January 12, 1932 in the Shaw Community of Benton, Rebecca passed away peacefully with her loving family at her bedside. She was born to the late Albert James Kentner and Anna Mae Brazil Kentner. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan. Throughout the end of life stages, even though she couldn’t converse the way she wanted to, Rebecca gave a sweet smile to all who came to visit her. She loved her family and friends dearly and cherished their visits. In earlier life, Rebecca loved working in her house and yard. She kept her house spotless and mowed and weeded her yard, she achieved the manicured look she enjoyed. Rebecca worked at Owasso Furniture Company and the Jacuzzi Brothers for several years. One of Rebecca’s greatest attributes was the gift of sharing. No matter how much or little, she offered what she had to anyone in need. Rebecca loved having fun, laughing and enjoying life. Frances C. Wills of Benton Arkansas, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2018 at the Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, Arkansas. She was born November 24, 1931, in Sheridan, AR to Isaac H. and Mamie Cato Spray. She was a 1949 graduate of Sheridan High School. Frances was married to the late Wayne Wills on September 22, 1950. She worked for the Alcoa Corporation in Benton, AR as an Industrial Engineering Secretary, and was retired in 1986. Frances truly lived a full purposeful life. She was well known for her compassionate soft spoken demeanor and gracious generosity. She enjoyed skating, cooking, reading recipe books, traveling, spending time at the lake, being a wife and serving the church. Frances will truly be missed by many friends and family. Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Spray Winston of Pine Bluff, AR and niece, Linda Winston Sharp of Fort Smith, AR. She is survived by nieces and nephews; James H. Brandon Childress, 32, of Benton, escaped this world on to a new adventure on Nov. 25, 2018. He was born Nov. 11, 1986 in San Jose, CA. Brandon was a corporal at the Arkansas Department of Corrections, but his real passion was the theater. He worked at Tinseltown Movie Theater in Benton for 11 years. While there, Brandon is remembered for his portrayal of movie characters. Perhaps his most famous characterization was that of Jack Sparrow, whom he illustrated to perfection. Movie goers were always delighted to see him in costume and character. He is best remembered for his unapologetically quirky nature, devoting himself to making his friends laugh by any means necessary. Brandon was an avid animal lover and fiercely loyal to anyone he cared for. He loved everything creative and eye-catching and appreciated so much beauty in the world. Brandon leaves behind his loving parents, Howard & Doris Childress; his beloved cat, Fudge; many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members; and a multitude of devoted friends and loved ones. Retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Coy Kinsey died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He had accepted Christ as his Savior July 1965 and is now in Heaven with the Lord. Coy was born on July 30, 1940 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Juanita Willcockson Kinsey and Coy Kinsey, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and only grandson, Orin Garcia. Coy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gwen Nalley Kinsey; daughters, Deborah Blankenship and husband, Wayne, Keisha Kinsey ; granddaughter, Kinsey Sage and husband, Evan, two great grandchildren, Orin and Addison Sage. He also catered to his niece, Nalley Smith, who twisted him around her little finger when she was a child. Coy spent twenty six years in the Air Force and was in the Vietnam War. After he retired, he went to work for the Corp of Engineers. He graduated from the University of Southern Colorado ( Colorado State) with a degree in business Administration. He was a very generous man, who put the needs of others before his own. He was a loving and thoughtful husband and father. Coy loved the outdoors, camping hunting and fishing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Pheasant hunting in Idaho. He was a Golfer and spent many hours with his friends playing his favorite game. Terry Lane Cockrell, age 56 of Benton passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, surrounded with family love. He left us way too soon, with a forever hole in our hearts. He was born in Benton, AR on December 29, 1961 to the proud parents Charles Cockrell (deceased 2007) and Deloma Cockrell. Terry was born, raised and made his lifelong home in Benton. He graduated from Benton High School in 1981 and soon after married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Walker Cockrell in 1983. Terry worked in construction most of his career. He was a music lover and could play several instruments, he loved strumming the guitar. He loved the outdoors, hunting & fishing, spending time with his cousin Bobby Harris (wife Judy) on their farm in Hot Springs and always said his dream job was to be a professional fisherman. If he was outside, he was happy. Above it all, his absolute greatest joy in his world was his grandchildren. He adored them, they adored him. Terry is survived by his mother, Deloma Cockrell (Benton); his best friend and mother of his children Lisa Walker Cockrell (Benton); their two children Brandon Cockrell (Benton), Brooke Cockrell and husband Adam Lemons (Benton); his three precious grandchildren Zackari McKinzie, Ryleigh Cockrell and Owen Lemons (all of Benton); his sister and her husband Sherrie and Cris Salazar (Maumelle); his niece Jordyn Ross (Ft Worth, TX) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carolyn Sue Starkey Bishop, 82 of Benton, AR, joined her youngest son David and her parents, Holly and Jake Starkey in heaven on Thursday, November 29. She was born on July 17, 1936 in Conway, on what she said was the hottest day on record. Carolyn Sue was a 1956 graduate of Conway High School and stayed in touch with her class throughout the years. She was a retired Realty Specialist with the Veterans Administration Loan Guaranty Division, where she made many life-long friendships. She unconditionally loved her children, granddaughters and great grandson. She also loved her church and community group and viewed them as her family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was also more tech savvy than many generations younger, and you could always count on her giving you the scores for the Chicago Cubs. She leaves behind her son, Jeff Bishop; daughters, Jenny Schlesier and Gail Bishop; granddaughters, Magen Schlesier, Lauren Ruby Schlesier and Bailey Bishop; great grandson, ‘the little man’ Jove Schlesier; sisters, Carlie Holdman & Sherry (Ronnie) King; and many nieces, nephews& cousins. Euna Mae Moore Sampson, age 94, of Benton passed away on November 30, 2018. She was born on September 27, 1924 in Rison, Arkansas to Ollie Moore and Rose Mae Goodson Moore. At 2 weeks of age, she moved with her parents to Conroe, Texas where her brothers, Leslie Moore and Clifford Moore were born. The family then moved to the Benton area where her sister, Drucilla Moore Orlando and brother Norman Taft Davis were born. From the 2nd grade until graduation she was educated in the Glen Rose School District. She was a registered nurse for many years with 45 years of her service at the state hospital. Many people came to her with their needs and she was always there with an open heart and hand She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, sons, Joe Walter Smith and Larry Paul Smith, her beloved grandson, Phillip Christopher Raper and her great-granddaughter, Gabrielle (Gabby) Jean Valentine . John Marshal Little, age 80, of Hot Springs Village, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born October 14, 1938 in Mabelvale, Arkansas to the late Marshal and Ruby Little. Paul Fredrick Fortner Sr., 85, of Benton went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 30, 2018 at UAMS. He was born on May, 4, 1933 in Whelen Springs, Arkansas to the late Arley and Vivian Fortner. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He made his home in Benton and worked at Reynolds Plant from 1955-1982. After retiring from Reynolds, Paul volunteered with his close friend, Clifton Taylor, working with thorough-bred horses. In 1989, he went to work for Angie Grant School and retired in 2004. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 48 years, Sadie Belle Dunn Fortner; a daughter, Carrie M. Fortner; son in law, Ron Havniear; and his brothers: Cletis, Cline, Johnny, and James Fortner. Paul is survived by two sons, Paul “Buddy” Jr. and Bobby Fortner both of Benton; two daughters, Christie Havniear Golden of Traskwood, and Sandy (Robert) Johnson of Haskell; six grandchildren: Amy Richmond, Blake Martin, Lauren Broach, MaKayla and Kassadie Havniear, and Shaun Johnson; and six great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Brady Paul, Bennett and Boston Martin, Sadie and Baby Boy Broach; a large extended family and many friends. Rose Lillian Anstey, 93 of Benton, passed away on December 5, 2018. She was born in London, England. She was surrounded by the love of Robert, Peggy, Katherine, Shelly and her beloved Che Che. Rose served in the Women’s Royal Air Corps and worked as a Physician’s Asst, raising her family in Brooklyn, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Anstey. Rose (Gahagan) Pfeifer-Lob passed away peacefully in her sleep early on the morning of November 15th at her home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Rose was born November 21, 1926 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, the 10th of 12 children to Harry and Mamie Alice (Murphy) Gahagan. Rose attended various county grade schools and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1944. After working for 1 ½ years she attended the Sheboygan County Teachers College until her mother’s illness when she went home to help care for her. She was a Secretary/Bookkeeper for several years for the Weiss Implement Company. Rose married Lloyd Pfeifer on October 9th, 1948 in Glenbeulah, Wisconsin and resided in that area for five years before moving to Plymouth, Wisconsin in 1953 where they raised their four children. Rose enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing cards and was always an avid reader. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and traveling. She is survived by her four children: Rowen (Patty) Pfeifer of Murfreesboro, TN; Randall Pfeifer of Madison, WI; Lana Peterson of Hope, ID; and Russell (Shelee) Pfeifer of Boise, ID. Grandchildren are Blake Peterson of Moscow, ID; Lindsey (Pfeifer) Hennemann of Murfreesboro, TN; Jonathan Pfeifer of Murfreesboro, TN; and one great grandchild, Alex Pfeifer of Murfreesboro, TN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. After residing in Sheboygan, WI for 10 years she moved to Clearwater, FL for several years where she worked as a Sales Representative. Rose married John (Al) Lob on February 21, 1989 in Waukesha, WI. They resided in Fox Point, WI for several years before retiring to Hot Springs Village, AR where she continued to enjoy line dancing, golf with the Duffers, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, reading and traveling. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John (Al) Lob, and her first husband, Lloyd Pfeifer, seven brothers and four sisters and one son-in-law, Randy Peterson. Rosemary Wilson, 87, of Hot Springs Village, died November 20, 2018. She was born November 27, 1930. The only child of Denver and Marietta Hudgens of Bardwell, Kentucky. When Rosemary was six years old, she and her mother moved to Alton, Illinois while her father served in the military. He was killed in action in 1943. Rosemary graduated Alton High School in 1949 and attended Ursuline Business School before working as a medical secretary at Alton Memorial Hospital. She married her high school sweetheart, John E. Wilson, in 1952. The couple first met in the third grade. Twelve years and three children later, Rosemary, John and sons, moved to Springfield, Missouri extending his career with the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company. As an only child, Rosemary thoroughly enjoyed motherhood and raising her three stair-step sons. She was thought of as the Ultimate 50’s mother and wife. Her home was always filled with love and laughter. Rosemary and her husband moved to Hot Springs Village in 1993 to be near their sons, Steve Wilson (Victoria) and David E. Wilson (Monica) who reside in nearby Little Rock, Arkansas. The couple’s middle son, Jeffrey, died in an automobile accident in 1985. It was a heart ache never far from her thoughts. Besides her husband, sons, and daughter-in-law’s, Rosemary is survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Richard Nelson, 87, of Hot Springs Village, passed away November 26, 2018. Born September 7, 1931 in Nebraska, son of Harold James Nelson and Fern Lucille Witt, Dick served in the US Navy, graduated from University of Nebraska, and spent his career at Packard Electric, GM in Warren, Ohio and Jackson, Mississippi. “Nellie” married Edna Frieda Lammers March 7, 1957 and was a devoted husband and father. Edna preceded him in death in 2004. He was an inspiration to his children Karen Lehnert (Dieter), Mark Nelson (Andrya), and Grant Nelson (Erin). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kristin Lehnert (Chris), Kimberly Boye (Eric), J.D. Lehnert (Erica), Lucas, Matthew, and Jacob Nelson, and Amanda Koser (Larry) and Adam Wood (Michelle). He will be watching over great grandchildren Charlotte and Cameron Toulouse and Eliana Wood. He is greatly missed by his close friend and companion Mary Beth Gray. A private service and interment will be held at Cedar Vale Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village Arkansas on November 28. Ronnie Miller, age 70, passed away December 3, 2018. Ronnie was born in Conroe, Texas. He graduated high school in Odessa, Texas in 1966. Ronnie enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1967 and served four tours of duty aboard the USS Ranger Aircraft Carrier stationed in the Bay of Tonkin during the Vietnam conflict. In Nov, 1971, Ronnie received an honorable and distinguished discharge from the Navy. Upon completing his service obligations, Ron spent the next 30 years of his work career employed as a computer specialist and programmer with responsibility for over seeing the West Coast Payroll Program for AT&T. Ronnie retired in 2001. He worked for Target for three years and thereafter, was employed as a jailer until 2014 for the Santa Clara County Main Jail Complex in San Jose, California. Ronnie relocated to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 2015 to assist in the care of his mother, and to reignite his relations with his uncle and aunt, Dick & Patti Freeman. Ronnie suffered a massive stroke in March, 2016, leaving him completely paralyzed on his left side. He then lived in the care of Susie & Roger Reid’s Abundant Life Private Care Home until November 5, 2018. He was then travsferred to a private care home located in Hot Springs Village where he spent his remaining days in the loving and attentive care of his care taker, Cathrine Ramsey. Ron was a 6”4” giant of a man with a heart of gold. He was good naturted and slow to anger, with a rye sense of humor that would keep everyone off guard until they were rolling in laughter about what he had just said. Ronnie is pre-deceased by both sets of grandparents and his dad, Floyd W. Miller, and his two younger brothers, Michael and Bobbie Miller. Ronnie is survived by his 89 year old mother, Wanda Miller of HSV and his uncle Dick & aunt Patti Freeman of HSV, and wife of 38 years, Vida Miller and step-sons, Raven and Timothy Bill of San Jose, California. Ronnie’s memorial service will be performed at the Hot Springs Village, CedarVale Funeral Home located at 200 Minorca Way, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm, with the burial to follow at the CedarVale Cemetery. JW “Dub” Mabry, 75, of Benton, Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born November 10, 1943 to the late Elvin and Audra Mabry in Benton. JW proudly served his country in the US Navy and was deployed to Vietnam. Dub was a model of what it meant to be family by choice, not just by blood. He loved “his girls” and showed them by example how to love and care for the people most important to them. He stepped up and stepped in to be what they needed, including being the father figure for his granddaughter Te’a. Papaw enjoyed road trip family vacations to anywhere there was desert – Tuscon, Arizona was his favorite. He loved to watch the horses run, and he even once owned the racehorse “Golden Kite.” Outside was a favorite place to be, and he often could be found riding his lawn mower or gardening with the Jeep parked nearby blaring some favorite tunes! His weenie dogs, Muffin and Maggie, were constant delights for him. Dub was preceded in death by his parents; baby brother, AW; grandson, Larry Joseph Hicks; and father-in-law, Russell Nicklaus. Surviving to keep dancing to his favorite songs are his wife of 35 years, Donna; “his girls” Stephanie Hicks (Larry) and Shelley Mabry; four children: Ricky, Bryan, Sherry, and Michelle; grandchildren: Tyler Hicks, Tanner Hicks, Te’a Mabry (Jim Tom Davis, Jr.), Ashley, and Samantha; brother, EJ Mabry (Deborah); mother-in-law, Jean Nicklaus; and sister-in-law, Teresa Thomas (Archie). Benny Franklin Edwards, 76, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on November 18, 2018. He was born to Alfred and Gladys Edwards on September 14, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana. William Eugene Reeves, 74, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018. He was born July 3, 1944 to Hazel and Geneva Reeves in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the owner and operator of Reeves’ Dozer Service for nearly 40 years in Bryant. William loved being outside – fishing for bream, deer hunting, or working from the seat of his bulldozer. He liked being at the deer camp to socialize even more than for the hunting! He enjoyed being around people everywhere he went, and he especially looked forward to getting together with his buddies to play cards on Wednesdays. Robert Joseph Cochran, 72, of Alexander, Arkansas (formerly of California), passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. He was born January 23, 1946 in San Francisco, California to Floyd and Patricia Cochran. He retired from Chevron as Environmental Director, working in the oil and gas industry in California. He read and knew the Bible like few others. After his wife died, Robert moved to Arkansas and volunteered at Saline Memorial Hospital. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed science fiction. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie; parents; and niece, Pamela Brazil. Edward Wilmont Brooks, 89, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on November 26, 2018. He was born to Wike and Effie Brooks on June 25, 1929 in Lepanto, Arkansas. He loved reading the Bible, traveling, and spending time with his family and church family. He was the pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ for 61 years. Medine Watson, age 84, left this Earth for her most joyful Heaven destination on December 1, 2018. Her journey began in Fordyce, AR and included St. Louis before finally residing in Little Rock with her husband Orvis Watson. Their love was two hearts beating as one. Mother to Steve (Suzanne) Watson, Sheila (Terry) Taylor, and Patti (Kevin) Carbol. Sister to Paul Marks and Mary Davis Harrell (deceased). Proud grandmother to Phillip, James and Tim, great grandmother, and cherished “Aunt Dean” to Kara, Stacy, Pam and Mike. Medine lived her life based on her never-ending faith in Jesus. She responded joyfully to God’s call to serve on mission trips worldwide. She walked through life with a passion for Christ her Lord. She was a faithful member of Christ Church for many years. She also traveled with family to many states and countries, fueled by her adventuresome spirit and never-ending curiosity in learning about others and embracing God’s gifts of nature. Medine showered her pets with unconditional love and demonstrated kindness to all creatures marked by 28 years as a zoo docent. Her warmth, intelligence, sincerity and concern towards others during her tenure as Executive Director of UAMC Eye Bank touched many lives. Medine’s playful humor, wit, positive attitude and creativity was a constant marvel to us all! She was independent, with tireless tenacity driven by her life’s motto “There’s got to be a way”. She was a source of great strength and encouragement to family, friends and especially strangers. Mom, you were a gift to our family as well as many others. It’s fair to say, while you are not with us physically, a part of you lives within all who crossed your path. Jeffery Lee Morris, 59, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on December 4, 2018. He was born to Phillip and Kathleen Morris on December 8, 1958 in Anaheim, California. The thing he valued most was his family. He loved serving the community. He was an officer for the city of Orange Police Department in California, then he served as the Saline County Constable for many years before becoming the Chief Financial Officer for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, ultimately, ending his career with the Pulaski County District Court. In his free time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing; or simply working on his yard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Morris, and sister, Teresa Morris Bruning. He is survived by his one son, Jeff Morris (Dayna); two daughters, Jennifer Morris and Jessica Morris; two step children, Krystle Richmond and Corey Richmond (Katie); seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; along with a host of many family and friends who love and miss him dearly. Harold C. Robertson, of Benton, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018. He was born June 1, 1934 in Antlers, Oklahoma to the late Ernie and Pauline Robertson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Claude Robertson; sister, Dorothy Steele; and granddaughter, Anna Robertson. Harold was retired from Alcoa. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton and was a 32nd degree Mason belonging to Masonic Lodge #34. Carolyn J. (Cooley) Duncan, 69, of Bryant, passed away on November 27, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 16, 1949 in Hot Springs to the late Otis H. Cooley, Sr. and Jeri (Evans) Burge. Also preceded in death by brother; Otis H. Cooley, Jr. Carolyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Benton and retired from Interstate Highway Sign Company as a Credit Manager. Melisa Michelle Wilbanks-Dillard, 55, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord November 14, 2018. She was born April 19, 1963 in Monticello, Arkansas to Julius Vanoy Wilbanks and the late Joyce Ann (Carter) Wilbanks. Melisa earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked in many accounting positions, however, teaching was her passion. Melisa was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. She loved to laugh and enjoyed jokes and watching funny movies. Melisa also enjoyed travelling with family and friends. Lavon Jane Newberry Rhodes, 89 years old, passed away November 14, 2018, in Benton, Arkansas. She was born September 3, 1929, in DeQueen, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dean Everett Newberry, Sr., Ruth Herring Newberry; son, Donald E. Rhodes, Jr.; brother, Dean E. Newberry, Jr., and sister, Priscilla D. Newberry. Lavon is survived by one son, Michael Rhodes of Little Rock, three daughters, Diana Barr, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Janice Rhodes and Shirley Holt (Will) of Benton. She also leaves behind six granddaughters, Stacy Simpson (Rush), Jennifer Altom (Drew), Stephanie Johnson (Marc), Melissa White (Steven), Hannah Howland (Jonathan) and Kristin Caudle (Bryson); 12 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Jeanne Newberry, who was always like a sister to Lavon. Lavon worked at Dillards for over 30 years. She was a member of the Deborah Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Benton. She was also fortunate to be surrounded by her wonderful neighbors. The friendships she made through her work at Dillards, her Sunday School class, and her neighbors blessed her life greatly. Her family and holiday celebrations together brought great joy to her, as well. A memorial service celebrating her life will be in Selph Hall, First Baptist Church, Benton, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Harold Ray Tipton, 76, of Benton passed away early Wednesday morning. Harold was born December 24, 1941 to the late C.L. and Josephine (Moores) Tipton in Pope County, Arkansas. On November 16, another angel was called home to watch over us from beyond the heavenly gates. Randal Steven Raper, Sr. passed away at the age of 58 and though Randal moved on to a better place to be reunited with his beloved daughter, Christy Michelle Goins, and his Lord and Savior, those who knew him here will always keep Randal’s memories close to heart. Born on April 20, 1960 in Benton, to Tommy Joe Raper and Edna Mae Wayson-Raper, he went on to attend Harmony Grove School before later making a living in construction. Randal enjoyed time spent with family members and friends. Although Randal was friendly to most, he had a special place in his heart for his closest friends, Bill Lovell and Bobby Dempsey. With love for hunting, fishing, and spoiling the babies, he cherished conversations the most. Randal is preceded in death by his mother and father, Tommy and Edna; and daughter, Christy. Jonathan Scott Andries, 30, of Benton, Arkansas passed away November 20, 2018. He was born November 20, 1988 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Scott was a diesel mechanic and loved working on vehicles. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, building contraptions, and most importantly-being with family and friends. Danny Ray Johnson, 60, of Benton, Arkansas passed away November 22, 2018. He was born January 3, 1958 in Louisiana to the late Warren Benjamin and Edith Mae Higgins. Danny was affectionately known as Santa Claus to the children in Saline County. He worked tirelessly to provide toys for children on Christmas through the Saline County Toy Commission for over seven years. Danny would dress in his Santa outfit and drive around Saline County in his trike motorcycle and participate in several Motorcycle Toy Runs. He also enjoyed wood working and helping anyone in need. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Mickey Johnson and Jerry Wayne Johnson. Franklin Huckaby, 57, passed away on November 23, 2018, in Little Rock. He was born May 8, 1961 in Somerville, Massachusetts to the late Jack Huckaby Sr. and Sybil Larkin. Jack was a hard-working man who loved spending time with his family and taking them on trips, which always included shopping with his girls. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved canoeing, fishing, and camping along Arkansas rivers. He also enjoyed taking cross-country rides on his motorcycle. He worked for Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for 29 years. Preceding Jack in death is his father, Jack Huckaby Sr.; his sister, Patricia Ann Williams and his brother, Billy James Huckaby. He is survived by his wife, Linda Huckaby; his mother, Sybil Larkin; his daughter, Brooke Tirman and husband, Kaleb; his daughter, Brittany Huckaby; his step-daughter, Cara Knight and husband, Jordan; his step-son, Josh Miller and wife, Kathryn; two grandsons, Jett and Kade Tirman; and two step-grandchildren, Ben and Andi Kate Miller. Gary Dean Vanderford, Sr., 69, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was born April 7, 1949 in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Gary was a truck driver for thirty years. He worked at Wal-mart in Benton for three years. He has numerous brothers and sisters through his congregation of Jehovah’s Witness in Thayer, Missouri and Benton, Arkansas. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Vanderford and Kathryn E. Vanderford-Dees; oldest son, Steven Douglas Vanderford; brothers: Donald Ray Vanderford, and Robert Michael Vanderford; and several aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-one years, Ruby J. Margaret Ruth Wooley, 84, of Alexander, Arkansas went to be with the Lord November 28, 2018. She was born June 19, 1934 in Spencerville, Oklahoma to the late Jacob Marion and Mary Lenora (Wallingsford) Lindly. Margaret loved the Lord more than anything. She was a member of First Pentecostals of Benton. Margaret enjoyed reading and crocheting. She had a beautiful angelic singing voice and would sing her children and grandchildren to sleep by singing “Night Watch.” Margaret loved planting flowers-red, long-stem roses were her favorite. Roland F. Gentry, 90, of Lonsdale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2018. He was born December 2, 1927 in Slocomb, Arkansas to the late Marshal Forrest and Della Shelton Gentry. Roland was a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Ten Mile Hunting Club. Roland retired from Arkansas Mental Health Services in Benton, Arkansas. After moving to Arkansas in 2004, she became an active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant, AR and loved being part of XYZ (eXtra Years of Zest) at Indian Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Little. Kristy LaNay McElroy, 48, of Benton, Arkansas, was called to her Heavenly Home on December 3rd, 2018. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 9th, 1970 to parents Bobby and Ruth McElroy. Kristy will be lovingly remembered for her over-the-top and energetic personality that could put a smile on even a stranger’s face. She was always so happy to be around family and friends and loved to be the life of the party wherever she went. Kristy loved to cook and was famous for her chocolate gravy and biscuits, Mexican chicken, and her dream pies- which were just never fluffy enough for her. She enjoyed watching WWE and the Dallas Cowboys in her spare time and was proud of the fact that she was the youngest sibling of four-which meant she could always throw her older siblings under the bus if she ever got in trouble. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, as well as her father, Bobby McElroy, who welcomed her into the Lord’s House with open arms. Kristy is survived by her mother: Ruth McElroy; her “three ladies and little man”: Nicole (Keith) Trent and Kara, Kathleen and Lee Brannen; three siblings: Glenn (Carol), Paula (Gary), and Scott (Renae); her two precious grandchildren: Layton and Kingsley Trent; and a host of numerous family and friends that meant the world to her.
