The Humane Society of Saline County (HSSC) issued a statement Tuesday evening to announce their temporary closure. The statement says they will close for a “couple of weeks” in the interest of safety for the public, as well as staff and volunteers, and will open “when the situation with the coronavirus improves.”
They WILL NOT be in taking animals during this time. They WILL however continue spay and neuter clinic and shot clinics. You can make an appointment at www.hssaline.org.
Clinic dates are posted on the website on the first day of the month at midnight. Clinics fill up fast. When all appointments have been taken, no clinics will show up. Because of the high demand, if you make an appointment and can’t come, they ask you to cancel as soon as possible so that someone else can use that appointment.
For refills like heartworm and flea and tick medicine, email [email protected]. They will refill meds once or twice a week, depending on volume. You can also order from 1800petmeds or Walmart and they will contact HSSC to approve the refills and then ship them to you.
