The Panthers took on the Bryant Hornets in the annual Saline County Shootout last Friday night December 13th, and it was nothing short of exciting. Benton, led by seniors Harrison Pickett and AD Gray, took the trophy with a 79-69 win. But arguably the most impressive play came from the freshman, Anthony Spratt. Spratt had a double-double on the night, tallying 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals.

In the beginning stages of the game, the Panthers began to pull away taking a 41-31 lead going into halftime. But the 3rd quarter is where Benton started to dominate, as they went up 19 points, thanks to a buzzer-beating full-court shot by AD Gray, on the Hornets by the time the 4th quarter started.
Although the Panthers were up big in the final quarter, Bryant began to chip away at the lead as they brought it to just a 4-point difference with 30 seconds left in the game. But clutch free throws from freshman forward Anthony Spratt and junior guard Javarious Russell helped Benton seal the game with a 79-69 victory.
