Some isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms could be seen into the afternoon hours, but the threat for seeing severe weather looks low through the afternoon. By late Wednesday afternoon into the evening, a line of thunderstorms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front. The silver lining is that this rain will fall in areas that have been very dry over the past several weeks.
As this activity pushes southeast across central sections early Thursday morning, the overall threat for seeing severe weather will decrease.
Chances for thunderstorms will continue into Thursday as the front moves southeast across the state before stalling. Some strong to severe thunderstorms could still be possible Thursday afternoon, mainly across southeast sections of the state. Additional showers and thunderstorms will remain possible into the weekend and early next week.
