Christy Bloomquist Ward
Christy Bloomquist Ward attended Bauxite Schools starting in kindergarten in 1987 and graduating high school in 2000. While at Pine Haven elementary she was a member of the Mini Miners basketball and cheerleading teams.
She also played softball in Benton at Tyndall Park from the time she was 4 years old through 7th grade. In Junior High, she participated in track and field, placing first in the discus throw in District meets her 8th & 9th grade years.

In high school, Christy was a member of the varsity Dance team her sophomore year, and lettered all 3 years on the varsity softball and basketball teams. She was chosen for the All-Saline County Softball Team her Junior and Senior years. She also played on the Lady Miners District Championship Team her senior year.
During her tenure on the basketball team, she received All District her sophomore and junior years, and was also selected as an All-Saline County Basketball Team member her senior year. She was awarded the Saline County Female Athlete of the Year in 2000.
Prior to college, Christy was offered a scholarship to Central Baptist College to play basketball. She instead chose to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with academic scholarships.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in Psychology, Sociology and Health Sciences. Christy currently works for Compact Family Services as a Foster Care Family Consultant. She has kept her connection to sports by coaching pewee basketball, softball, cheer and volleyball in the Hot Springs area for multiple years and attending her children’s athletic events.
She has 2 children that have both attended Bauxite. Her daughter, Jaylin Rhoades played basketball and volleyball graduating in 2022 with a volleyball scholarship from Central Baptist College. Her son, Jack Ward is currently in the 10th grade at Bauxite and plays basketball and golf.
