High pressure will build over Arkansas from the central and southern Plains in the coming days. Oppressive conditions are expected, and there will be little/no rain through at least Thursday/Friday.
Heat index values will near or slightly above 105 degrees. On Tuesday, expect heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees. This advisory is for portions of central, eastern, southeast, southwest, and western Arkansas.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
The affected counties are Perry … Saline … Pulaski … Lonoke … Prairie … Monroe … Hot Spring … Grant … Jefferson … Arkansas … Lincoln … Desha … Drew … Northwest Yell County … Southern and Eastern Logan County … Yell, excluding Northwest.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
