A Benton woman faces several charges, including attempted murder, after police say she tried to hit someone with her car.

Benton Police officers responded to a private property accident at Home Depot- 17060 I-30- just after 6:45 p.m. Friday. The incident involved several juveniles and an unoccupied vehicle that was struck in the parking lot.
While officers were collecting statements from the parties involved, the owner of the struck vehicle attempted to run over the juvenile driver. Officers then arrested the owner of the vehicle, Daisha McCuien, age 24, of Benton.

She faces charges for Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class A Felony; four counts of Aggravated Assault, Class D Felonies; Battery in the 1st Degree, a Class Y Felony; four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the 1st Degree, Class D Felonies; and Reckless Driving, an Unclassified Felony.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. BNPD Criminal Investigations Division assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing.
