5 Books for Spooky Season
1. Find Me – Anne Frasier
I already reviewed this one earlier in the year. But it’s about an FBI profiler whose father was a notorious serial killer. It’s SO GOOD and I cannot sing Anne Frasier’s praises enough. Perfect for October.
2. Good Girl, Bad Blood – Holly Jackson
This is the sequel to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Still has the awesome Veronica Mars vibes. Unlike many “second in a series” books, it’s a sequel that doesn’t disappoint!
3. My Sister, The Serial Killer – Oyinkan Braithwaite
Here’s another one I reviewed earlier this year, but it will hit differently in October. The dark humor, the weird sibling relationship, and the body count of this book make it an obvious choice for thriller season.
4. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark – Michelle McNamara
Hands down, this is the spookiest true crime novel I have ever read. Don’t read it alone in the dark. The true story of notorious rapist and serial killer, Joseph Deangelo; and the many heroes who relentlessly pursued leads until he was ultimately caught. (Also, highly recommend the HBO doc by the same title!)
5. Death on the Nile – Agatha Christie
You can’t go wrong with the whodunnit queen, Agatha Christie. And this one is soon to be made into a movie! A flawless mystery, with the signature suspense and thrill of all her stories. Perfect for a fall weekend read.
Krystle Goodman is a crazy cat lady, who loves to drink exorbitant amounts of coffee, and read a shocking amount of books. She lives in Benton with her husband Josh, her son Roman, and their two cats Roxanne and Abby. When she isn’t reading, you’ll find her cooking, painting, or watching true crime shows.
