The Salem Fire District normally hosts a celebration for Independence Day at the Salem Ballpark, but not anymore they say. They have run out of room for the amount of people that show up, according to a statement on social media:
“We regret to inform you that the July 4th Celebration that has been annually held at the Salem Ballpark, and hosted by the Salem Fire Department, will no longer take place. We truly appreciate the support that all of you have shown us during this event for the past few years. We have outgrown our facilities and parking, and simply do not have the manpower to do it justice. Our firefighters have decided that, if we can not do the event well, we should not do it at all. We will try to keep you informed as we find out about other options for you on the 4th. Again, thank you for your support and understanding.”
