Pops on the River, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and sponsored by Orion Federal Credit Union will take place Monday, July 4, in downtown Little Rock in the River Market/First Security Bank Amphitheater. The event offers free family entertainment with a performance by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks finale.

The festival, in its 38th year, begins at 3:00 p.m. in the River Market area of downtown Little Rock. The gates open to the First Security Amphitheater for the other planned entertainment including the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra concert.
“It means so much to us to continue to celebrate this holiday by providing this free event for the public,” said Amanda Copley, marketing and events director at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Military members, active, reserved or retired, who check in at the event will get a discount to be used at many of the food and drink vendors and marketplace merchants. There will also be giveaways for those first 100 military members to check in, including free reserved seating. All military are asked to check in with their military ID at the Arkansas Democrat Gazette booth in the Marketplace when they arrive at the event.
Winrock Automotive of Little Rock will also have vehicles on display for attendees to check out in the pavilion. Central Arkansas Water will be in the Market Place providing water, and Lost Forty will be in the gated area with tent setups selling Rockhound IPA, 2nd Rodeo Light Beer which features Arkansas rice, and their new Punchy Arkansas Hard Seltzer – Snow Cone Collection.
There will be children’s train rides, games and caricatures by John Deering, cartoonist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Attendees can shop in the local marketplace and there will be food trucks.
Performing on stage will be Nicky Parrish featuring the group Kemistri, followed by Rodney Block who will take the stage prior to the Symphony’s performance.
Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:20-9:30 p.m. and are shot off the Main Street Bridge. Find a full schedule of all the events online. Access to the Main Street Bridge will close at 1 p.m. and reopen at 11 p.m.
This event is free to the public. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities.
Amphitheater seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.The public can reserve amphitheater seating for only $10 prior to the event through the Pops on the River website. No fireworks, food, drinks, coolers or pets will be allowed in the park.
