1. Who can register to vote?
To register in Arkansas, you must be a U.S. citizen and an Arkansas resident. You must be age 18 or, you must turn 18 on or before the next election.
You must not be a convicted felon (unless your sentence has been discharged or pardoned), and you must not be presently adjudged as mentally incompetent to vote by a court of competent jurisdiction.
2. How do I get the registration form?
Complete your registration by filling out a paper Voter Registration Application. You can go in person to your County Clerk’s office. Or…
The Arkansas Secretary of State website has a list of places you can get one. You can also download it online in English or Spanish and print it out yourself, then complete it.
On the application, you will need to provide either your driver’s license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number (or check the box in #9 if you do not have either). Make sure you sign it before submitting.
You must register using the address where you actually live or reside. Owning property or a business in a precinct/city/county does not mean you hold residency there.
3. How do I submit my voter registration form?
To vote in the next election, you have to submit your application to an official voter registration agency or mail it at least 30 days prior. If you mail the form, it should be postmarked by that date.
The deadline for the 2024 General Election is October 7, 2024. If you’re not 18 yet by that date, you can still submit a registration form if you will be 18 on or before November 5, 2024.
You can also drop it off at the local County Clerk’s Office. In Saline County, it’s located at 215 N. Main St., Suite 9 Benton, AR 72015.
Once your local County Clerk has processed your Voter Registration Application, you will receive your voter registration card in the mail. Once you receive your card, it means you’re registered to vote.
