Come to the Courthouse Monday evening to pay tribute to the fallen first responders and others from September 11, 2001.
Saline County has partnered with the Cities of Benton and Bryant, asking with the County Office of Emergency Management, to host a 9/11 Memorial Day Ceremony to honor and remember all who lost their lives in the rescue efforts that day.
“Saline County makes a commitment to NEVER FORGET our fellow Americans who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001,” said Saline County Judge Matt Brumley.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, September 11 at 6:00 p.m. on the Saline County Courthouse South Lawn (Sevier Street side)
“First responders are the lifeblood of our city. Their willingness to go first into the unknown, to lead the way and protect those around them. We owe all of them a tremendous thanks. God bless each and everyone of them,” said Benton Mayor Tom Farmer.
2,977 people lost their lives during the September 11 attacks. 2,753 were killed in New York, 184 were killed at the Pentagon, and 40 were killed on Flight 93.
“The City of Bryant finds it so important to honor and remember those who were lost on September 11th, as well as those who have sacrificed so much as a result of that terrorist attack,” said Bryant Mayor Allen Scott.
Members of the general public along with all Saline County First Responders are invited to attend the ceremony.
